Matthew C. Byars, DDS General Dentist
Dr. Byars earned his Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Liberal Arts degrees from Olivet College, Olivet, MI, in 1994. He continued his education at the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry, Detroit, MI, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. After graduation, Dr. Byars joined the United States Navy. He continued his dental education and gained further experience during his military career. In 2008, Dr. Byars was one of three sailors and Coast Guard personnel in Bahrain. After a year, Dr. Byars decided to transfer to Key West, Florida to complete his Naval career. In 2010, at McDill Airforce Base in Tampa, FL, he was promoted to the rank of Commander (0-5).
We are also excited to announce that, as of October 2015, Dr. Byars is now doing moderate Conscious IV Sedation on patients needing multiple extractions, implants, root canals and quadrant dentistry. Patients will need to have a full exam first and meet certain criteria to be a candidate. This is a great benefit to our office and we are happy to now be able to provide this service to our patients.

In his spare time, Dr. Byars spends time with fiancée Kim and their dog Cali. They enjoy traveling, spending time with friends and have an active lifestyle in fitness sports.

His commitment and dedication to continuing education are evident with the recent completion of over three hundred hours of dental implant and bone grafting/augmentation training.
